OR you two could do "rock, paper, scissors" and winner takes a good book and eats alone! :funn: (or is that the loser eats alone? :idontno: )

:floor:I guess that depends on who is watching you eat and read.

Although sometimes I do wonder about myself, that some solutions are so obvious and I'm too obtuse to figure it out. Maybe I have other things on my mind.
I meant to add, Mermaid, that I resemble this remark--this is so my mentality sometimes! I call those "forehead-slapping moments," of which I have had (and continue to have) many!

I have taught my kids from day one, you like everything you get.....someone went out of their way to purchase something for you because they care about you. I hate spoiled kids that crab at gifts they dont like or want, my kids would be in big trouble!!!! smile and say thank you and enjoy ;-)
I, too, have taught my kids to be gracious gift receivers, though I find that it's not always true that people go out of their way or even put a lot of thought into gifts they give! I have to admit that a gift given that reflects little of the receiver's likes or interests is always a disappointment.

I knew there was something I was supposed to be doing!
No, I need to check the weather forecast and see if I need to pack my flip flops or my Converse!

this is why i think we should just buy presents for the kids - how would you like to be a plus-size woman, and receive a gift card from a place that doesn't even remotely have plus-sized clothes ? there are cheaper ways for people to tell me i am too fat !

Yes, I'm thinking the earlier suggestion of movie gift certificates is the absolute safest way to make someone happy. I love going to movies and don't go to as many as I want to.
