Pet Peeves--New and Improved for 2010

Mascara commercials... I mean seriously, how long can your lashes be?? and after 40 plus years of product development???

voluminous; great lash; lash extension; stiletto? lash express; great lengths; longest lashes ever; lash blast; turbo lash? vibrating brush?WTF? Projectionist High Definition; magna Scopic maximum volume; Sumptuous Bold Volume Lifting;

blah, blah, blah!!!:roll:

The vibrating brush was the last straw for me!

They've obviously mastered mascara, perhaps they could put some of that lab time and research towards something that is of more benefit to women - breast cancer, skin cancer etc.

Even more so because most of their models look like they are being attacked by spiders around their eyes!

Dangitall! How did I miss all that black under my eyes when I get awake and walk Sweet Pea first thing?

Well dang - I had something in my head and just like the wind, it blew right through! Just makes life more funn.

thank you for articulating this pet peeve BR. I have always silently cringed when I hear these but only when the same person keeps using the same description in such a dramatic way. every effing thing is either awesome, amazing or fabulous. "FAAAAAAAAAAAABulous!" but its usually just ONE of those words all the time.

It bothers me but I've never said so out loud til this AWEsome thread. the bad thing is that I am guilty of these words too but I try to use a variety - at the least!

these words are but a few that are overused, and so the meaning becomes almost meaningless. when was the last time you really meant something was awesome - by the true definition of "awesome"? so, now everything we say is awesome is just plain old satisfactory or ordinary. too bad.

My Pet Peeve....

When someone sends me a regular EMAIL letter in "texting format"....

What's a hooptydo? I have a friend that repeats this over and over (and now I just remembered what I forgot earlier.......drunks that repeat themselves over and over.)

thank you. I thought it was just me being old and uncool. and with my new phone typing is as easy as my PC keyboard. I don't mind abbreviating - and I do some of that. but I guess I'm no expert texter to start with. (I'm getting to be though!)
