I have not seen a higher standard since I have been a member. Maybe it was before me. I do agree with you. This is pathetic. My grandmother would probably whip me because she must have told me a thousand times if you can not say something good don't say anything at all. Thanks for reminding me

I'm the Ahole because I don't agree with how the Uhlfelder's went about trying to have the flag removed? Or how many on this board have acted since?

You are often confused but I understood it just fine. Before the petition and the petitioners agenda (divide North Walton from South Walton) we kinda sorta worked things out and "coexisted". Now we are divided and fired up and pissed off and ain't gone take no mo!

Okay thank you because you sounded like a southern yankee.
War is war and if you are fighting for your family, your land and your fellow soldier it is EXTREMELY HONORABLE. Then if you are fighting with your own weapon, no shoes, very little food, against superior weaponry and out numbered as much as 5 to 1 you are a HERO in my little book. That flag symbolizes a uniquely loyal and tough young man and all of you who desecrate that soldier are not very intelligent (about who these soldiers are and what they fought for).

I guess that's where we can disagree. You can talk about hardship,loyalty,fighting for family/land, but a bad cause is a bad cause. You can't set that aside with the mitigating circumstances of the moment. These folks were trying to destroy the United States of America, and that would never be honorable...not then,not now. I am, however open to the idea that a treasonous government inside the beltway is worthy of public protest,civil disobedience, and whatever it takes short of killing people to change the rot from within. I could possibly see that these memorials can serve as reminder of our past by moving/ placing them in battlefield parks,not town squares...or enhancing the sport of fishing.
