Petition To Protect Soldier Monuments

New posts
I'll give you a chance to rebut yourself. Think about this a long time. Were the founders of the Confederacy right or wrong?

So this is about your IQ then I guess? lol Okay, you got us on that one. Hope that IQ serves you well...
I am relating a story told to me 15 years ago about the perception on points north off the beach. The sum of your posts reveals that perception will continue.

I think I have been clear. The Confederacy and the Confederate Soldiers did not represent "abject evil". The Confederate Soldiers should be honored. The War could have been prevented. The question about right and wrong will always be answered in the perspective of the individual unless you are God himself.

I didn't write our history Bob. I simply told you it diverges from your reality because your arguments are not based on fact!
Call Jim Bagby at TDC. Tell him you have all the facts. Offer him to turn NoWal into a new tourist attraction called RebWorld. It will be about honor. You can sell the Stars and Bars in all it's forms. Every Sunday after church you could have a mock slave auction so the tourists could get a genuine feel for who was working the cotton fields with their sharecropper cracker buddies. You could stand on a podium and tell all the facts about how turning against your own country was honorable. Make sure you shout so they can understand. Then you could dress up the kiddies in military garb and let them pretend to shoot each other. Afterward let the kids make plaster of paris mini monuments to remember the fallen. DOT will be four laning your way in no time flat. Defuniak may actually have a Starbucks after all!.

Perceptions regarding another persons character should require more information than forum postings regarding the Confederate Flag issue. The men and boys killed on the side of the Confederacy should be Respected and Honored along with all our fallen soldiers. I can live with another persons perspective but the difference in you and I is that you only think within a one perspective box.

Wow. This is what a superior IQ and superior morality comes up with? If that is what intelligent humor is then I want none of it.

he can't get through the denial...it wrecks his vision of the past

It's your heritage. Embrace it. Don't run away. It's honorable, right?

There is no superior morality. Just different moral spheres. Everyone draws the line differently. Your moral sphere allows you to defend the dishonorable. My moral sphere will call you out on the b.s,

Believe it or not I do understand your point. Denial is an avoidance of reality. Reality is both right and wrong because we are humans (not omnipotent beings). Therefore all of history and heritage contains both right and wrong. To accept one reality and not another is denial. You have accepted one reality. I understand WHY the Confederate Flag is controversial so I accept your perspective. The difference in us is that you can not accept mine and choose to make judgements. I do not respond well to judgements as most other humans. Thus we can have a never ending debate or CHOOSE to live and let live and co-exist without anger or division. Your side of this issue is what is dividing us not mine.

What do I want from you? I want you to stop defending the Confederacy as a good and honorable thing. It was the cause of 640,000 American deaths, and as such, it overwhelms the list of atrocities you want to attribute to the American flag.

I have not defended the Confederacy and I have agreed slavery was wrong. I have defended the BCC's right to make a decision you're not happy about for reasons you can't grasp. It is not illegal.
