KABUL?The top U.S. commander in Afghanistan said the planned burning of Qurans on Sept. 11 by a Florida church could put the lives of American troops in danger and damage the war effort.
Gen. David Petraeus said the Taliban would exploit the demonstration for propaganda purposes, drumming up anger toward the U.S.

"It is precisely the kind of action the Taliban uses and could cause significant problems. Not just here, but everywhere in the world we are engaged with the Islamic community."

I agree. I understand their motivation, and I think its really more about terrorism and foreign wars than it is truly about religion. Its seems to me that they could come up with a more productive, less endangering to our troops way to express it.

That kind of action is the work of extremists, and they should be called out for it. Jesus sure wouldn't have gone about it that way. There are plenty of good Christians, but I'd bet that half of the people who call themselves Christians don't know jack about Jesus, at least they don't act like they do.

Muslims treat the Koran more formally than we treat the Bible, so it is much worse than burning the Bible.

It's not extreme. The extremism is coming from the idiots in the middle east who get so worked up about stuff like this. If you've got a spare Koran or Bible you don't need, send it to me, I'll be happy to burn it for you.
