For those who remember/know of the 1947 Kon-tiki, these guys did a twist and made a 23'x60' sailboat out of 12,500 plastic bottles* and sailed it 8,300 nautical miles from San Francisco to Sydney, Australia!
The mast was made of an irrigation pipe, generators were powered by humans on bicycles, and the sails were made of recycled bottles.
