Understood, but I think that's the reason for the communication gap on this topic. A lot of people including myself do not possess such a document and have never seen such a thing or even heard of it until the last couple of years. That's why we find it difficult to understand why anybody would be pressing our president for more proof of where and when he was born. His proof of birthplace already exceeds that of many in this country including myself and fully meets the accepted standard that has been in place for years in this country.

The first time you have heard of a birth certificate was in the last couple of years? You can request a copy of one from the hospital.

I thought you said you were trying to lighten things up with this thread, yet you come out with with more political stuff that most people don't care about, trying to stir the pudding. :idontno:

No, That's the first time I ever thought that some would not consider a certified document like our president's or mine to be a birth certificate. I've always considered my computer printout with county and date of birth to be a birth certificate. I never considered calling it anything but a birth certificate, and will continue to do so. I won't even entertain the possibility of doing the legwork to obtain additonal documentation just to satisfy the anal-retentive twits of this country who might call it into question. I hope, (and imagine), that our president feels the same way. What hospital? i don't know where (hospital) I was born and my parents are dead!. Can't ask them.

Which explains why people are curious about Obama's "birth certificate".

No, only brain dead okie birthers. Are you not for state's rights? Do you not trust your own state's records. Obama's birth certificate was good enough to get a person drafted and killed at war. Is that not good enough for the ignorant masses? I'm not curious at all. It's an official state record certifying his birth. What more do you need? A placenta in formaldehyde?

The simple fact is that this is politics at an all time low. If it were truly that big of a deal and he weren't a US citizen it would have come out well before he was elected much less into his 3rd year as POTUS. It's a talking point that appeals to the most brain dead racist hick who managed to register to vote.

It's a conspiracy theory plan and simple. If it were truly a cover up then someone, even the most liberal, would have come forward. At a certain point one's civic pride would have shined through and they would have fessed up that the American voters gave the countries routing and account numbers to a Kenyan.

I thought this was going to be an interesting thread that would give me an opportunity to tell my story about meeting a guy in a bar in a foreign country and discovering we were both born in the same hospital in a state neither one of us had lived in for decades.
But then I realized it was the birther thing, again. :roll:

By all means tell your story. It will be far more interesting than anything posted in this thread so far.

I thought I made it obvious from the start that it was a birther thread. It's been most informative and interesting because it's brought to light mistaken notions people across this country have about what is generally accepted as a bona fide "birth certificate". Apparently it varies from region to region. At least now I have some idea of what goes on in the minds of birthers and those with latent birther tendencies. Conspiracy theories are always entertaining and interesting, and it's always fun to needle those who get sucked into them. One thing I've found is that once somebody crosses over from rational thinking into fantasy, there's no going back. For the rest of us it's more fun than eating popcorn at a train wreck!
:popcorn::trainwreck:

I would be more concerned if the birth certificate was the only verifiable record of his birth OR if anyone with a brain questioned it.

Such is not the case.
