Well, I must have missed it.

I do appreciate some northern frankness. People in the south would often rather you smile, be nice, and lie to them, rather than tell the truth.

Some of the south's friendliness is shallow, but our mama's taught us not to hurt anyone's feelings, and also it is much easier to kill your enemies with kindness, you can catch many more flies with honey!nothing wrong with being friendly...I never expect anything in return except mutual respect

I will share one quick story without naming names, about some ladies I know who live in an large southern city in TN. They have been going to the same hairdresser for years. In fact, they grew up with their hairdresser - best friends. Well, the group of ladies became tired of their friend's cuts, so individually, each decided to get her hair cut elsewhere. The kicker to the story is that this started two years ago, and they still go to their old "friend" to get their hair cut first by her, before going to another Salon to get another stylist to repair the damage. They are too chicken to tell the friend so they continue to see her every three weeks. ...and you all thought your haircuts were expensive.![]()
