One thing that I don't understand regarding the idea of rolling back the assessments to the values of 2001. If the County needs x to operate on for the year, rolling back values to 2001, will lessen the assessed values, but the tax rates will have to increase greatly to come up with x, which is needed to operate. Without cutting the crap out of the spending, we will have lower assessments and higher millage rates, basically equating to no change in the amount of the checks we write to Rhonda Skipper Tax Collector.
Anyone care to show me how my thoughts on this subject are wrong?
