After you two ammosexuals start exchanging gunfire your aim is so bad three children playing in their own yard are dead with two more wounded. Two vehicles have holes in their engine blocks and four homes are hit. And all you had to do was give up the few dollars you had.

That is sheer stupidity, using a firearm to protect property. I could see using a gun in the home as a means to defend myself and my family against bodily harm. That said, if I hear an intruder break in, my first priority is to get everyone out of the house. A means to that end might be to have gun in hand in the event of complications, like if I'm cornered and there is no way out. Other than that, I think I'd rather lose my most prized possession than have to shoot someone.
