We do live in paradise but what would make it better? What do you wish we had? Maybe you want more water sports or a maybe a Taco Bell. Whatever it is, tell me what you think would make Sowal a better place to live.
1) Library open 6 days a week
2) Public transportation along 30-a and up 331
3) Power lines buried along all scenic highways
4) Public pool suitable for lap swimming
Okay, I'm just a visitor (plan to be a local at some point), but I agree with Scooter:
1) Public transportation along 30-a and up 331
2) Power lines buried along all scenic highways
I've loved this place dearly even when we had "nuthin" around, but, since you asked....
1. Trolley to and along 30A
2. Art supply store, like Utrecht or Dick Blick (with more studio art supplies than Michael's)
3. European-style sauna (not just a dinky little one in a gym where people go in their dripping wet swimsuits and sweaty workout-wear).
4. Nursery with native plants, good herbs and edibles selection (Am I missing this? Do we still have one around? If so, please let me know!)
Love the idea of burying the utilities! And public transportation would benefit locals and tourists alike. I'm not sure why that hasn't worked out yet but it would be wonderful! I also enjoy chic-fil-a but i personally prefer to see local businesses thrive. It would be nice though to have more convienent and affordable food options in the neighborhood. (hint hint local restaurant owners) A pool, oh yes everyone would use a pool. Not a day goes by that someone doesn't ask or wish about a public pool. One thing I miss is all the live music. We still have it but not as much. And I would love to have a place to shoot pool.
Water Park for Children (and adults who wannabe children). Sonny's Barbecue (or any good barbecue with a fantastic salid bar). Hwy 331 4 lane bridge with bike lane and fishing access (no toll). Home grown produce farmers market. Outdoor concert stage for music concerts (could be an improved and expanded local football stadium that subs for concerts). Local News Television station. Seaweed control or business operation to make some use of it. Weekly community mullet fish fries at a beach park with grits, hushpuppies and swamp cabbage. More community sporting events (fishing tournaments, sailing tournaments, highschool football playoffs, etc.). I will be plenty satisfied if things remain pretty much the same also.
