Rain ??

New posts
I think we are trying to lose the moniker "Sunshine State". Then people would stop asking why we arent in the top ten states using solar power.

and if it brings much needed fresh water to the oyster beds in Apalachicola..... that would be a good thing.

I hate to complain about the rain, but I'm tired of it. I'm just not very productive on rainy days. I have a long list of errands to do today here in GA, and all I want to do is stretch out on the sofa.

According to AccuWeather, in Atlanta it rained 16 days in June, 19 days in July, and 10 days out of 17 in August so far.

In SRB it rained 15 days in June, 17 days in July, and 9 days out of 17 in August so far. Florida, of course, has had more inches of precipitation.

A joke I heard was that it has only rained three times in Atlanta this summer: once for 35 days, another for 45 days, a third time for, well, you get the joke.

My neighbor has a rain gauge he emptied last night at 9PM. It's rained 4 inches since then. :bang: I've never seen this much water in my yard since moving here 2003. Even during hurricanes, tropical storms, etc.

Not as bad as July 3-4-5 yet ,area had then 15"+.

The ground is still waterlogged from all that rain and rain since - ground water is higher now than it has ever been from a non-tropical system in the last 20 years or more. And it isn't going to stop for awhile.

That's what I was going to say...we may not be getting as much as the July rain, but the ground is just completely saturated and it has nowhere to go. The puddles in my yard are gone, but our road is still covered. :bang:
