Tonight's "news" reported that American Idol winner, Clay Aiken, is on the cover of People magazine, announcing that he is gay.

really? I had no idea.

I'm not getting out of bed tomorrow. This is really too much.

My doctor (did I tell you that I love him?) gave me Lorotab for the pain.

A fellow who works in our building came down with shingles last week. He was prescribed Valtrex (which I think is supposed to be the herpes drug). Evidently it acts like speed, as he was funnier than hail. He talks fast anyway but he was absolutely hyper. But we felt soooo sorry for him!

NoHall, hope you recover soon. I have heard shingles is miserable.

...oh, little NoHallie! That is better/worse than anything I can do to myself! Did he give you...STEROIDS?????? Shingles S*ck! Take care and post alot...it will make you feel better...especially if you are on drugs.

If that is true about Valtrex acting like speed, when word spreads, so will the "reported" cases of Herpes.

Yep. Valtrex. You ever see those bad boys? They're dark blue and about the size of a vienna sausage. It is the herpes drug because shingles/chickenpox are caused by the herpes zoster virus. I just found this out myself today. My doctor was so cute--he explained it to me and said, "This isn't the bad herpes...I mean that kind of herpes...and nobody here or at the pharmacy will think you have that kind of herpes..."

No steroids, thank GAWD. He only gives me those when I'm one step away from being hospitalized. They wreak havoc with my narcolepsy, and he was already fussing at me today about not getting enough sleep. In fact, he thinks that high stress levels from long hours and sleep deprivation are what brought it on.

I'm not happy to hear that Valtrex works like speed...that's all I need right now!

I won't lie to you--it hurts. I'm just hoping that the Valtrex keeps it from spreading. Clothing is painful...I'm not sure I want to be posting nekkid and on drugs!

Shingles suck, say goodbye to sheets for a while. It's also a good thing you got cable since even reading is painful everytime you turn a page. Get well soon. Sounds like you need a nice vacation. ;-)
