Family deny episode was a publicity stunt

Hours after the "balloon boy" drama of 6-year-old Falcon Heene, thought to be trapped in a hot-air balloon, speculation intensified that the episode was a hoax orchestrated by the family.


Asked if the incident was a publicity stunt, the boy's father answered: "That's horrible after the crap we just went through. No."
When later asked by CNN's Wolf Blitzer in a live interview why he didn't come out of hiding in a box when called, Falcon looked at his parents, and said, "You guys said that ... we did this for the show."


Falcon Heene is safe and sound from a flying balloon, but he's got the flu.
As his family did the morning show circuit on Friday, he first vomited during a GMA appearance, which was pretaped. (SCROLL DOWN TO WATCH) He, his two brothers and his parents were appearing via satellite from their Colorado home. As he ran off to the bathroom to vomit, Diane Sawyer encouraged his parents, who both stayed seated, to go after him. Falcon's mom did get up.
Then, live on the "Today" show, he threw up again. As his father Richard was denying the balloon chase of Thursday was hoax, the six-year-old starting puking again. His mom handed him some Tupperware to vomit into, and he did. Meredith Vieira kept talking and his father was cringing as Falcon vomited and his mother wiped his mouth.


Sounds to me like a hoax. This family was on Reality TV once...and just got hooked. Seems like reality TV is spawning Jon and Kate wanna be'$? The little boy in the planned "hoax" gets sick on the air while forced to be a part of the theatrics?...isn't that kind of telling? Dad you will need a lawyer?

This is the same guy who was interviewed showing his "family" storm chasing outings. When he finds a tornado, he launches a specially equipped motorcycle and rides into the storm! nuts
 
If it's determined this was a hoax, I hope they get a big fat bill from all the emergency responders that were involved.

No kidding! Yes, I admit I watch Wife Swap, and those people were among the most memorable families, and that is not in any way a good way.

Those poor kids. It looks like their parents put them up to it. Freaks.

It had nothing to do with the Clinton's. It was absolutely aimed at the bizarre behavior of the father. She just happened to be on the unfortunate end of one of his oddball ideas caught on camera.

Ok.. Just good to know that you don't have to be an "oddball" to be anti-Clinton.
