Recent fires????

I was flying from Dallas to Orlando last Thursday, and was lucky enough to be sitting in a window seat so I could see the coastline of SoWal as we passed over. I was concerned to see what looked like a large fire burning in the area. It looked like it was nearest to Seagrove Beach.

I was wondering if someone could fill me in on what I was seeing, We have been coming to Seagrove (near Eastern Lake) every summer for the last 12 years, and we are always concerned about SoWal and you guys who live there.

I'm not sure how "controlled" some of these burns are, but they are "prescribed".

Last week there was a very large fire north of Seagrove across the intracoastal. Not sure if it was planned or not.

does anyone know if this has anything to do with the reason my son has been wheezing and burning eyes? Yesterday I had to take him to the hospital for 2 breathing treatments and steroids. He's supposed to do breathing treatments now every 6 hours. I haven't been feeling well either. And then there's an article in the paper about the air quality from the fires. We don't have history of asthma.

Could be a combination of the fires and an earlier than usual start to pine pollen allergy season.
