Just got this update. Bummer!
NORTHWEST FLORIDA
A Florida red tide continues in northwest Florida and has moved westward into Escambia County. Higher-than-background concentrations of Karenia brevis, the Florida red tide organism, were found this week as far west as Pensacola Pass. Red tide was also confirmed this week in Okaloosa and Walton counties (fish kills and respiratory irritation were reported last week) and continues in St. Andrew Bay in Bay County and Apalachicola Bay in Franklin County. Two samples from Wakulla County contained background concentrations of K. brevis. Fish kills and some respiratory and eye irritation were reported along most of the Florida Panhandle from Santa Rosa to Franklin counties. Commercial shellfish harvesting continues to be affected. Check with the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Division of Aquaculture for the most up-to-date information regarding shellfish area closures.
