It was a distraction just as a "Jesus Sucks" t-shirt would have been. However, they have every right to wear the shirt based on the 1st Amendment. Believe it or not, but the ACLU will happily assist in a lawsuit to allow them to wear those shirts. Perhaps you should investigate what the ACLU does instead of simply bashing them.

Maybe you should investigate the blind eye the ACLU turns when it is a matter of Chrisianity.

there are some gravely ill-informed people on here with regards to the ACLU. have any of you seen the most recent example at Pace HS? this is just the most recent of many and is a perfect reflection of this organization. perhaps you should also look into who founded it. that will answer all your questions without a doubt.... it has nothing to do with "American Civil Liberty".

That's a whole other thread and guess who would show up to sue if the school tried to prevent students from doing a "prayer round the flagpole"? Freedom of religion is a two way street.
