Rented a good movie lately?

I finally saw it for the first time just a few weeks ago, so I'm behind, too. I loved the part where what's-his-name got all snooty and said, "If anyone orders Merlot, I'm outta here!" Oh, that made me laugh.

I loved that part too! I need to watch it one more time before it goes back to catch the other good lines.

If no-one minds a bit of depressing movie I recommend THE MACHINIST with Christian Bale. He is a fantastic actor, has completely transformed himself and plot is clever, and movie well acted.

I saw this movie too, and no one else I mention it to has ever heard of it! C. Bale's character is quite the opposite in this from Batman. We've loved him since we first saw him in Empire of the Sun when he was about 12 yrs. old! He was good in American Psycho too.

You are also one of the only people I know who enjoyed Empire of the Sun (I thought it was terrific although I know critics generally skewered it!).I am a huge Christian Bale fan and need to rent Batman which I have not seen yet! Wish I also knew how he lost all the weight! He was cadaverous in The Machinist - amazing that he pulled that off so well!

I saw this weekend that I bet SmilingJOe likes. Pay It Forward. Anyone seen that one?

We rented Into the Blue. It was a fairly good rental movie. But the best part was all the gorgeous scenery of the Bahamas Out Islands. It was the perfect movie to watch during a Chicago winter.
(And if any of you guys are Jessica Alba fans, this is the movie for you!)

Watched "Blazing Saddles" over the holidays. :rofl: A classic!

Also watched "True Grit" - Guess we were into westerns.
