Rented a good movie lately?

New posts
We've watched four movies this week...Mr. and Mrs. Smith, Batman Begins, Fantastic Four and Sky High (kid movie). Can't really brag about any of 'em. I dying to see something really good. Any suggestions?

i am a movie collector, i buy just about everything, and so far am about 50 movies behind ! the last one i saw that i liked was charlie and the chocolate factory with johnny depp. saw the beginning and end of the skeleton key, snoozed thru the middle but mr. audie liked it.

I just rented The Girl in the Cafe, with Bill Nighy. An aging civil servant meets a nice but somewhat enigmatic girl in the cafe. A relationship develops, and he invites her on his business trip, which turns out to be the G-8 Summit.
Cil says Thumbs-up.

I enjoyed the other movies mentioned, as well, especially Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

Ditto. Cinderella Man was great. I highly recommend it.

Oh, good. Hubby just brought that home.

We saw War of the Worlds last night -- at one point it got so gross and depressing I had to walk out of the room. Just not in the mood. I did come back for the end though and while it was fascinating it was rather abrupt. I didn't like the pace of the movie and thought the sheer volume of action scenes was overwhelming. It would have been nice to see some of the concepts fleshed out a little more. I felt bad for little Dakota Fanning and wondered if making it scarred her for life. She already acts like she's 30.

The 40 y.o. Virgin was very funny. I'm not usually into ribald humor but there were many laughs in that one.

Wedding Crashers comes out soon on video, right? Or is it already out?
It was a bit too long, but holy cow was it ever funny.

Wedding Crashers is not out yet. Cinderella Man was very good.

Right before we left Colorado, Cinderella Man was rereleased in Denver, they were trying to get it the audience it deserves, with the Oscars coming up.
It was indeed very good, but I think it was overshadowed.
I loved Paul Giametti's part. Remember when they visited him at his empty apartment?

Wedding Crashers comes out next week.

Shaun of the Dead is a must see. British humor, a funny take from the zombie horror flick Dawn of the Dead.

Requiem for a Dream is a few years old, good, but kind of disturbing, about drug culture.

Two different ends of the spectrum, but both good.
