Does anyone know how much land was burned in the fire? It looked like a lot of smoke, but fairly concentrated. :idontno:

I hadnt heard about this. When?Where?

I think it was on Halloween day, in the early afternoon, and it looked to be in the Black Creek area or somewhere NE of that area.

Oh.. my sons friend from Bruce is coming over in about an hour. I will get the scoop and report back here.

Well, she just got here and said that there wasnt a big fire that she knew of. She said she got home usual time early afternoon and didnt notice one.:idontno:

Maye it was the day before Halloween. From SoWal it was easy to spot the tower of smoke. It coming straight out of the tree tops, almost like a big@ss chimney, then puddling out more like a cloud. I thought about taking a photo, as the form which the smoke took, looked interesting.

didn't your area just receive enough rain lately to not have this happening? that's suprising!

We had some good rain, but Live Oak leaves on the ground dry out very rapidly and, along with Pine Straw, can easily ignite.

Maybe it was just the mother of all jack-o-lanterns--?:idontno:

SJ, That fire I believe was a controlled burn by Forestry. 50 acres I think.
