Rita Wave Action on South Walton Beaches

I was wondering what the Gulf looks like today, as the monster Rita passes us by (Thank you, God.). Weather Channel says we should get very high wave action and beach erosion. I am hoping that we regain more of our white sand, as with Katrina. Can only imagine the rip tides, so hopefully, people are not going into the water now. Stay safe, everyone in Texas and LA.

Pretty tame thus far. I think this storm is far enough away as to not cause more than 3-4-foot surf.

I just saw the image update and thought the waves had washed away the little sign, but I went back and saw the following picture of the thief...

and why is that lifeguard tower rolling violently away apparently under it's own power! Dang that Farrakan, or maybe it was Jackson! They've got to stop smoking that stuff! They're affecting inaimate objects and causing grandmothers to steal signs and try to pawn them for funds to get their perscription drugs!
