Rolling Rock

New posts
It was our college beer when we didn't have time to drive to West Virginia to pick up Stoney Road ($7 a case). Rolling Rock I will still drink especially at Hurricanes with raw oysters!!!!

If you're a southern boy and you just arrived to town spending the summer in State College, PA in the shadow of beaver stadium and you are 17 in a bar on the edge of campus and they bring you a cold case full and slam it down on your table for you and your new friends and you open the bottles with the opener affixed to the table leg and the floor is covered with rolling rock caps and peanut shells and when you leave they count your empty bottles to total your bill and you leave with the co-ed you just met who you were shooting pool with who is a couple of years older than you it is the best beer in the world which happens to be brewed just down the road.

That is the best run-on sentence in the history of the English language.

It's a shame that Anheuser-Busch bought RR and shut down the Latrobe brewery. You guys are just drinking a beer produced in the same building as Bud and Bud Light with a different color bottle and label.

About it being skunky- that's because of the green bottle. It lets too much light in. If RR is available in cans you should give it a try. It will taste better- unless you're into skunky beer.

Full disclosure- I worked for A-B in the late nineties.
