Sad but funny

He's in the hospital with internal injuries. So sad.

They keep showing it repeatedly on our local TV and it gets more painful-looking each time.

I've taken a nasty fall or 2 in my day, but I was definitely NOT running a race.

(Though you have to wonder what kind of fools would sign up for a race in Chicago in October! I mean, give me a break: the weather up there is precarious at best in the autumn. You're always taking a risk that it might be super crappy, as it evidently was. No wonder he fell, and it's a wonder he was the only one who did.  )
Mermaid, marathons are typically run in the in the Fall because it's too hot to run them in the summer, too cold in the winter, etc. Mr. Pod ran a marathon in Iowa one September, and he said it was actually too hot to be comfortable. The New York Marathon is run in November, the Boston Marathon is run in April; both risky months for ideal weather conditions, but that's how they do it!
One of the moms at school ran in the marathon in the video, she was receiving lots of congrats at school this morning!

:clap_1: Wow, like being Mom is not enough of a marathon in and of itself.

I have a freind who's a cancer survivor & just finished chemo less than 5 mos. ago and she finished the race in 6 hours (never raced a marathon before in her life!)! We were all so amazed of her accomplishment. She is exhausted but happily triumphant!

what kind of internal injuries? I bet he was about to collapse before he hit the finish line.

Brain hemorrage from what I read in the news this morning. :(
