Shoe Repair?

Is there a shoe repair shop close to Seagrove Beach? Thanks in advance for your help.
I would think that you will have to go to Fort Walton Bch or Panama City to find a shoe repair person. You should contact the
store in Sandestin to see if they may know of one in the area.

No, I'm embarrassed to admit that at a party my daughter wrecked the heels of her Dolce & Gabbana gold slingbacks that she bought before I took away the Neiman's card. She wants to wear them New Year's Eve with jeans.

Like mother, like daughter, except that I am OCD about taking care of my things, and she's 180? from that.

Thanks SJ. Good idea to call the Birki store.

Sounds like her problem to me! ;-)

You're so right.

Unfortunately I paid for them and I know she'll never get around to getting them fixed, so an expensive pair of shoes is wasted. It's like flushing our hard-earned dollars down the toilet. :pissed: What steams me is that the shoes were bought without my permission. Like I said, I took the credit cards away so this won't happen again.

With your response, "You're so right," it makes me think that you are somewhat serious about this. Perhaps, instead of paying $40+ for repairs, you should buy her a $20 pair of shoes from Payless.

Good thought SJ. Put the good shoes up and she can fix them when she is tired of wearing less expensive ones. No one ever told me before I had children that "parenting isn't for weaklings". Toughest job you can have because every problem has multiple answers often with no obvious choices.

Parenting is definitely a difficult job. Especially when you had no role models. My dad died prematurely, and my mom has always been crazy. She used to take a butcher knife into the bathroom, lock the door, and threaten to kill herself. We never knew when we came home from school if we'd find her in a pool of blood.

So I've tried to make my child's life easy, obviously too easy. So even though it might be too late, I'm really trying to be tougher.

You and I must have had the same mother! Mine was insane too. And most times, I was very afraid of what I might find too, after school, and even slept with my door locked toward the end of her life. And yes, it is so very hard to be a parent when you never had a role model. It is pretty tough to sit and try to figure it all out. So, I can sympathize. As a parent, you try so hard to do it as best you know how and a lot of times it is totally wrong!
