The blue sign controversy has led us all to an awareness of the
necessity of protecting the beauty and uniques style of 30A. One of
the biggest challenges facing the Scenic 30A is the challenge of
avoiding sign clutter as the Timpoochee Trail, Genesis, CBA, TDC, and
Scenic 30A all prepare to install new signs.
In recent meetings, many of the concerns surrounding new signage is
not in regard to design, but numbers. In order to get some
perspective about where we are and how many is too many, we are asking
out members to embark on a sign survey.
All you need is a map, a camera, and a few hours to spare.
We hope to document the signs currently in the public right of way,
identify signs that are no longer relevant, and put the numbers of new
signs into perspective.
