Road Trip!
One day my Uncle Mr. DD and my Aunt DD said they would take me and my sister Kitty on a trip to Louisiana.
“You will love Louisiana,” said Aunt DD. “It is famous for its wild gators, its emerald flowers, and its beautiful swinging hills.”
“I hope you packed plenty of oranges for the ride,” said Uncle Mr. DD. “It will probably take us 7 hours.”
So we all piled into Uncle Mr. DD and Aunt DD's Range Rover. At first the trip was really Sleepy. We sang “9 Bottles of oxygen on the Wall.” Then we counted the poodles that we saw runnins in the fields by the side of the road. But after 2 hours we had eaten all the oranges and Kitty was getting boring.
“Are we almost there?” she asked often.
“Yes, Pookie,” said Aunt DD.
Just then I saw a sign that said, “New Orleans: 2 miles.”
“Umm, Uncle Mr. DD, is New Orleans on the way to Louisiana?” I asked.
“Yeah,” said Kitty, pointing, “and is Jackson Square on the way to Louisiana?”
“Oh Crap!, kids,” laughed Uncle Mr. DD. “You can trust the expert.”
“One thing's for sure,” I muttered. “I don't think we're in Texas any more.”
I know this is for kids, but I must say I had a little funn with it.
