So, what do you think of this?

Well, Rita, first and foremost, as long as it's civil, I believe we can talk about whatever we like. I did post it in the lounge.

Secondly, I had not seen the Snopes article prior to posting and I did agree that it was a good read. But just because you feel the conversation needed to be over after that response doesn't mean it is so. It was okay for LS and I to finish our exchange whether you agreed with either of us or not.

You are quite right! Doesn't change the fact that IMO it is not worthy of conversation here.

I'm just in a cranky mood today. I'm getting up on the other aide of the bed tomorrow.

I have to post since my citizenship was recently questioned at the DMV.

As some know it's not as simple as closing one eye and looking in the magic box of ophthalmology anymore. You have to bring the contents of your mailbox for the last two weeks, the head nurse in charge when you were born, and a signed letter from god. Okay not that bad, but it's a pain.

To preface this I was born in Florida, in Tallahassee, at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. I presented my raised seal certified copy of birth as required by Florida law. You'd though I had handed them a bar napkin with a hand written notary seal.

You know you're a Florida native when you have to explain to the "seasoned" professional at the DMV what HRS stands for.

To finish the rant, as a former Student Loan Pro, I can assure you that even if they did look and find that it's not necessarily a notation that he was a non-citizen seeking financial aid in this country. It could also have meant at the time that he was considering attending an international school. When Obama was getting ready to go to school it would have taken much prep work to get the financial aid either sent directly to the school or the approval to have the funds disbursed directly to him. The latter is common with international schools so that the money can be exchanged prior to departure, US financial aid in any form cannot be disbursed in any currency other than the US dollar.
