Funny, something I thought that would spur discussion from both sides. But I suppose the only things that get real mileage here are arguments, not discussions. How silly of me.

Correct. And it seems to be designed so that the PC side always has the last word.

The tone and language of a post is usually a good indicator of a person looking for a discussion, or someone looking to start an argument or just plain be nasty. You will usually see people drop off threads when the discussion is no longer a discussion. I know very few people who would actually be as nasty in person as they are online, hiding behind a screen name.

I used to work in a law office and I've never heard of a court case holding up using someone's opinion of "tone" and "language". Sometimes people express themselves in different ways. Am I "hiding" behind a screen name? My name is Megan. I choose not to tell my last name on this discussion board.

As I said, it's all about the "tone". Some of you talk about one-sided arguments. Maybe some of these threads never get going or just die one-sided because some of the posters are not really inviting someone to a conversation, but more like challenging to a dual.

It's unfortunate that some people don't express themselves in an acceptable "tone". I've found that a lot of people are blunt and have a low tolerance for BS.

Some people on this board clearly have a persecution complex. If they want to get to the root of their problem what they need to do first is take out their smart phone. Then they need to point it at their face and take a good selfie. Then turn the phone around at look at the image they just took. Really study the image carefully, perhaps for 1/2 an hour or more. Next time they feel persecuted, take out the phone and look at the photo for a refresher of the person who is causing most of their problems and dissatisfaction on this board, and maybe even life in general.
