Please come out Monday night (no school Tuesday due to Veterans Day holiday) to cheer your local team to victory. These young men deserve our support. They've played with heart all season to reach this unlikely spot.

From today's Daily News:

The South Walton football team picked the perfect time to put together one of its best all-around efforts of the year.
The Seahawks, in a breakthrough season, will be playing for a postseason berth Monday after hammering Northview 31-0 Friday on the road in District 1-2B action.
South Walton's victory coupled with Vernon's win over Holmes County means a shootout will take place Monday at South Walton between the Seahawks, Vernon and Baker for the district's two playoff spots.
South Walton (7-2, 3-1) rolled up 372 yards of offense, while the defense collected its first shutout of the season. The Seahawks have won four of its last five games.
"It was great," South Walton coach David Barron said. "They played so well, they really did."
South Walton's four touchdowns were spread between four players and all came on the ground.
David Bazylak scored from 7 yards, Cody Adams ran in from 13, Howard Young added a 15 yarder and Dennis Smith plunged in from the 1.
Bazylak also drilled a 37-yard field goal in the romp.

I don't yet have game time. If anyone else does, please post.

GO 'HAWKS!!!

GOOD EVENING FROM SOUTH WALTON HIGH SCHOOL!

WE DID IT! WE'RE IN THE DISTRICT PLAYOFFS!

PLEASE MAKE PLANS TO BE HERE AT SOUTH WALTON HIGH SCHOOL TOMORROW EVENING TO CHEER OUR BOYS TO THE DISTRICT CHAMPIONSHIP!

THE FOLLOWING IS AN EMAIL RECEIVED TODAY FROM THE FHSAA (FLORIDA HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION) SETTING OUT THE GUIDELINES FOR TOMORROW NIGHT'S GAMES.

2008 FHSAA Football Championships
District Tiebreak Schedule
The following is a listing of all district tiebreakers in the 2008 FHSAA Football Championships.

Rules of Competition are:
-Seeding is based on overall win-loss percentage. The higher seeded team in each 12-minute quarter shall wear dark jerseys.
-Participating schools shall play one entire 12-minute quarter against their bracketed opponents in each District Tiebreaker.
-Each participating team is allotted two timeouts per quarter.
-If the score is tied at the end of regulation, the NFHS tiebreaker procedure shall be used to determine a winner (the 10-Yard Line Overtime Tiebreaker Plan).
-If three schools are participating in a District Tiebreaker, the No. 1 seed receives a first-round bye and will play the winner of the quarter between the No. 2 and No. 3 seeds. If the No. 1 seed defeats the winner of seeds No. 2 vs. No. 3 then the No. 1 seed will advance as the district champion and the school it defeated will advance as the district runner-up. If the No. 1 seed loses to the winner of seeds No. 2 and No. 3, then the school that defeated the No. 1 seed will advance as the district champion, and the No. 1 seed must then play the loser of seeds No. 2 vs. No. 3 to determine the district runner-up.
-If the District Tiebreaker is being played to determine a district runner-up, then the winner of the second 12-minute quarter advances as the district runner-up.
-The warm-up period between quarters should not exceed 20 minutes.
-Teams are allowed a maximum of 60 players in uniform.
-No marching bands are allowed.

All contests will take place on Monday, Nov 10, at 7 pm local time (unless otherwise noted).
The No. 1 seed is the host school.
