South Walton teenage visitors...where are their parents?

Beach Comber
:bicycle:As of past Saturday....check in, the teenage (and even younger) visitors have made a dangerous and offensive display of bad behavior. Darting and standing on dark streets while saying obscenities to the passengers in oncoming vehicles. I met an Atlanta mom at Caf? 30A last evening which had to ask young girls on the beach to watch there profanities because her child was building sandcastles with her Dad that was later destroyed by a teenager, with another large group, as he jumped on their masterpiece. Of course this innocent little girl was frightened and Dad was belligerently responded to by the young men. Are the authorities going to have to step in and do parenting?

Breath deep and remind yourself that it's only 3 days and roughly 12 hours until the little turds head north again.

They're frequently back in Alabama or Georgia. Used to have a friend with the WCSO who had stories of parents who would rent a beach house for the kids, and then drive back home without them, leading to the inevitable unsupervised house parties. He actually got a kick out of making the 2:00am phone calls that resulted from those parties when he got to tell Mister and Missus Birmingham Bigshot that they had four hours to make it down here to collect their child before their 13 year old got charged with drunk & disorderly.

It's why I added a baseball bat to my beach gear... ;) I actually have not had too much negative spring break incidents this year. However the old guy at the eastern lake access on Sunday who thought his nasty little barking dog without a leash was amusing yipping at everyone almost got his ass handed to him. :)

I spoke with a local earlier today and she said they treat this time of year just like winter.
They stay indoors and only go out when they must and then straight back home while they wait for the nasty's to go away.

By nasty's I mean those "entitled" ones who have never learned the meaning of respect for others.

Spring break is cool, but why do so many feel they can't make a memory without damaging someone or something. Walked through a gated community last weekend and every stop sign on every corner in the community had been pulled up or broken off.

Aunt PittyPat say..."Atlantans, how did they evva get in!"

I tried to warn everyone last week that the ill behaved, mannerless, sense of entitled sloths were headed that way. They really are a spoiled rotten bunch of sloths, and the kids are even worse!

It's been kind of nice around here though.

The parent/child ratio is always out of whack during spring break!! It's my least favorite time of year to go to the beach!

Next time just call the WCSO and giggle as they cite him for either not having dog tags or having the dog there during the hours he's not supposed to.
