Air Now is showing the whole Florida Panhandle with Moderate air quality. Yesterday and today Pensacola was in the unhealthful range, and Panama City is close to unhealthful with the particles at 78. SoWal sit right in the middle. I am wondering if this unusual or the norm for the summer? I have been here many times in the Spring and Summer and never noticed it except this year.

We are stuck under a dome of high pressure which traps air near the surface. The haze out there reminds me of August, which is when we usually get this kind of weather. Makes it hot like August, too. The seabreeze is weak, fewer afternoon thunderstorms than normal for this time of year too. And several mornings there has been a little smoke in the air. There are lots of fires burning, although thankfully none close to here.
