Speaking of Black Friday: the xmas wish list

New posts
Dear Seagrover...I mean Santa,

For Christmas I would like my rent to be paid, new clothes, SEC basketball tournament tickets (with press passes), a bluetooth thingy, a green coat from J. Crew, an antique dresser, a new ipod (other one died), new running shoes, gift certificate to Panera Bread, a gas card, and a dining room table.

I've been a really good Whitey this year. Thanks!!

Hug and kisses,
Whiteyfunn

Good Luck!!!!

If we all hate the commercialism of Christmas (I do), then why to we continue to go along with it? I have racked my brain trying to think of something to do when the family gets together that would be funn, and did not totally revolve around gift-giving. We no longer have small children (nieces & nephews) in the family, they are all teenagers. This really changes the feeling of Christmas. :( I want Christmas to continue to be funn for them but all we do is exchange gift cards.

Any ideas? We have done the Chinese auction (I think some people refer to it as dirty Santa) route, but that's just not funn unless you have a larger group. I don't want to be a Scrooge, but each year that passes, I feel myself becoming more and more Scroogish.

Dbuck, start a new thread on this one. It's a great question but it won't get any attention here! This thread is already hopelessly commercial. It's a goner....

I will give it a try -- hope I can copy and paste it.

Your gift list sounds a lot like Philippa's, minus the basketball passes. She still thinks games are social events where you go to see and be seen...game, score, what score? they score?

Well, duh they are still social events to me! That's why I asked for the press passes too! Silly Mermy!

Well, you can tell Philippa is a chip off the old block! Mine!

BTW, when are you showing your face in SoWal again? I haven't seen you in nearly a year. :(
