If yoo go to the Derby, you buy them in souvenir glasses, then try to drunkenly carry a stack of glassware to your car at the end of the day.

SJ- didn't you go to the Derby once? Did you have a mint julep? Or were you trying to dodge puking people?

I'm sure it is very similar, just without all that awful engine noise. We don't follow car racing, so I have never been to one. Horses are prettier, dontcha think?

Which reminds me! Breeders Cup is here again this year in late fall- much more fun than Derby IMHO. Great racing, interesting people watching with all the international people here. Hard to gamble and win money on Breeder's Cup day since every horse in every race is good- hard to pick the winner!

juleps are great...mojitos are the BEST!! a Cuban concoction of simple syrup, lime juice, rum, splash of soda and LOTS of fresh mint.... :clap_1:

Gathering with the Louisville beach crowd tonight - we do this to keep our spirits up until it is time to actually go. If you leave now, you can make dessert! I guess I will be reporting all the news- restaurant closings, beach conditions, who is going, etc. And we will be talking about the Peas and the Mers!
