Starbucks Bubble

Has anyone noticed that the price of a 4-pack of Starbuck's frappaccino at the grocery has jumped from $3.99 to $5.29 to most recently $7.99 in the last 8 months? I think I taste a bubble in my coffee.

My wife is addicted to those things. :bang:

And I used to think my beer was expensive!

Those things have no expiration date. Mix the leftovers from your morning cuppa java with some chocolate milk and you've got the same thing, but without that nasty processed taste. And by the way, does anyone remember mixing Pepsi and chocolate milk for a taste treat? Sounds awful, tasted divine!

I normally brew mine fresh daily, but had an emergency fix after food poisoning incident with no energy left in my body to make it.

I was checking out the ice cream section today and noticed Starbucks icecream. What'll they think of next? I'm not a coffee drinker, and we have a quaint local coffee house here that makes a fabulous white chocolate latte, so I have no need of Starbucks.

So you are telling me that you don't enjoy the richness of $6 per cup of coffee? :floor: Nor do I.

I am suprised that Starbucks does not sell their icecream in the coffee shops.

If you can afford the drive to the nearest Costco, I believe the 12 pack is 13.69, at least they were last week.

Is the nearest Costco in Jacksonville?
Or is there one that is closer?

I don't know. Maybe there is one in Pensacola, but lets say my car gets 20mpg and that Pensacola is 60miles away, totalling 120 round trip miles. That would be 6 gallons of gas consumed, plus vehicle wear and time. Following me? Those 6 gal of gasoline (low grade)@ a conservitive $2.40 per gal would cost $14.40.

If the Costco price is $13.69 per 12 pack, or $1.14 per unit, that would equate to $4.56 per four pack. If I wanted only a four pack, the out of pocket cost would be no less than $18.96 ($4.56+14.40 gas). Now this assumption would include there actually being a Costco as close as Pensacola. If I wanted to save a few bucks and time, I would just drive to Publix at WaterColor x-ing and pay my $7.99.

Yeah, Frappucinos aside (it's not that hard to make the real thing, and I am not a big Starbucks fan anyway) I have taken the time consider my own schlep to Costco and if it is worth my time, gas and trouble. I like Costco, but I only go if it is going to be a fairly major purchase--and I only have so much storage space.
