! A normal Real Estate market should gain approximately 10% a year in appreciated values.

Well, enough of my thoughts, what about yours?

Hi Nina:

10% inflation means that prices double every 7.2 years.

I am living proof that some real estate can appreiciate that rapidly however it is unusual and hopefully the next time it happens I hope I am smart enough to sell.

Hi Buz, yes we have not had a "Normal" market in many years on the beach.......hopefully we can acheive "any" appreiciation on their values
in this second home market area!

According to CNN, the current polls say that Americans are more concerned about jobs than anything else. Although small businesses need help, they don't hire enough people (due to the fact that they are small) to make a difference in the unemployment rate. It's the large corporations that can make a difference. When Obama mentioned "tax breaks to companies that create jobs right here in the United States of America," even some Republicans smiled. Small businesses don't typically go off-shore -- that was a direct reference to big business. A Republican sort of idea.

On a different note, what was wrong with Michelle Obama? She looked like she was angry or upset about something, not her usual smiling self.

I think we are learning a lot about who and what drives the economy in the USA. If there aren't jobs, consumer spending is down, more small to medium sized businesses scale back or close their doors, further hurting the economy. Some business owners who are affluent and purchased second homes are the next wave of foreclosures, unfortunately. I am already seeing this among my friends. I hope it does improve!

Not true, BR. If half our GDP is comprised of small business, then how can small business not make a difference, especially if they are not off-shoring? Don't underestimate their collective power. Many shore together into groups for purchasing power, ie; insurance benefits through trade organizations.

I thought that promoting education, small businesses, and increasing our exports (double in 5 years) are great ideas.

Clean coal, offshore drilling, and nuclear (for security reasons) I disagreed with. I think promoting those is counterproductive to us becoming a leader in green technology.

Its been a year Mr. President and your CHANGE SUCKS!!!!

I hate to break it to you, but this year (and probably the next few) was going to suck even if Jesus himself was president. These problems were not created overnight and they aren't going away overnight.

I dunno. I'm just parroting what hubby (who has a Ph.D. in engineering, an MBA from UVA, another MBA from UNC, and has been an executive at a major textile corporation) said. It made sense to me.:idontno:

How about stop talking, traveling, pointing fingers and just showup at the White House and do your job! Just sayin
