Beach Runner
beats on hood
We were staying at my sister's house in Summer's Edge. We've been there so many times, but I think it was Labor Day weekend when the followinh occurred. It was late on Saturday night, and we heard loud sounds outside. We walked outside, and there was a flat-bed eighteen wheeler with a forklift stacking up about a 1/3 to a 1/2 of a flat bed of sod on the Eastern Lake Road side of Chelsea Loop. I remember it clearly because it was time for our dog to go out for a walk before bedtime, but all of the noise and activity distracted her. I didn't think about asking the workmen what was going on because I figured that the HOA at Summer's Edge had decided to renew the grass on the Eastern Lake Road side. The grass looks terrible there because of so many people that aren't renters or owners parking on the grass in front of or on the sides of the homes along Eastern Lake Road.
That big stack of sod is still there. The grass in the pile has gotten very long. I wonder if someone who had done a sod job elsewhere decided to ditch it there to get paid for a full load of sod when they only used part of it. I dunno.
Does anyone know the scoop on this?
