Straw Poll: District 5 County Commissioner Race

New posts
Straw Poll has Hudson leading race

With 14 people voting in the straw poll, Hudson leads with 43%, Braunstien 29%, Osborne 21%, Smith 7%. You may cast your vote in this straw poll at www.waltondemocrats.org. The Primary Election, in which this race will be decided, is August 26th.

I see that Alan Osborne's numbers just increased.

I wonder if most people voting on the Democrat site are Democrats. All of the candidates for this race are Republican. I'd just like to point out that this poll is a very weak piece of straw, since the participants are likely democrats, rather than a strong balance of non-partisan, Dem and Rep. I think a more neutral site would get you more accurate results.

Osborne has so LOST my vote!

5 copies of the same postcard flier in the mailbox were followed a week later by a campaign sign placed in my yard!

They are now ALL in the trash, along with any hopes of garnering my vote!

How did a campaign sign get in your yard??? Fliers? I feel left out and I am in his district.

Instead of just tossing out someone who may be the best candidate based on you getting too much campaign paper, why don't you contact him and ask why you were such a paper target? He probably has people working for him that have somehow screwed up in getting the materials out.

I preface this comment with the notation that I have not decided at all on this race yet, but I don't think I would toss an otherwise qualified candidate based on the probable follibles of the US Postal Service.:floor: Further, it could just be that the sign was deposited in your yard by an opponent of Mr. Osborne. Stranger things have happened.:yikes:

If I was deciding this race on such things, Mr. Smith would certainly be out- those red/yellow signs of his are truly hideous.

Why would you waste a vote by writing in for someone who doesn't want the job anymore. She has endorsed Alan Osborne.

"weak straw poll"

From the number of people voting today -- after posting the current results on SoWal -- I'm guessing we DO have a broad swath of people voting in the straw poll. (I could almost hear the phones ringing from various candidates!) :D
