Please join Frank Bell, director of Camp Mondamin in Tuxedo, North Carolina, for an informal meeting to talk about summer camp and answer your questions! We are so fortunate that Frank has added our area to his itinerary.

We will meet at Cerulean's on January 23rd, at 7 pm. Sodas and light snacks will be served.

Frank's family has owned Camp Mondamin for Boys, and Camp Green Cove for Girls, since 1922. We have been a Mondamin family for 8 years, and we can't say enough wonderful things about the camp, the staff, and the overall experience. Many of the counselors are former campers and are excellent role models for our kids. I can't think of anything better to do in the summer than go to camp, learn new things, and be a kid!

Visit these websites for lots of information, and of course feel free to PM me or Bdarg with questions. Our son will also be at the meeting to talk to the kids.

Oh yes- if you can, please let me know if you will attend - I want to have enough drinks and snacks. Thanks!

As usual, time is flying by! We have talked to quite a few families- look forward to seeing some of you on Wednesday!

This is also an employment opportunity for anyone who would like to spend their summer in cool North Carolina. The camps have many repeat counselors, but are always on the lookout for people who like to work with kids. Especially valuable are skills like sailing, paddling, horses, tennis, mountain biking, mountain climbing, camping, hiking, art, and swimming. Medical professionals are encouraged to have a "working vacation" as well, since there are 2 nurses and a doctor on staff at all times during camp.

You have to be 18 (maybe it's 19) and finished freshman year of college. Counselor ages run from college age on up!

I was considering working this summer and having Kate doing camp activities during the day and staying with me at night, but I think I'm going to give her one more year and try to do this when she is 7. I know several moms who work at camp every year and love it!

Come to the meeting and meet Frank and Nancy Bell for more info, or go to

I went to Camp Arrowhead in Tuxedo back in the day, which is (or was) also operated by the Bell family. I can't stress enough what a great experience this was. If you are even considering a summer camp, please attend.
