:funn: I love it.
Hoping to see "Little Miss Sunshine" if I can ditch these kids.

Pea, thanks for the heads up on this movie. I had never heard of it. I was curious and watched the trailor. It looks really good and heart Greg Kinnear!! It comes out July 26th here.

We just got back from Pirates. It was good. I do agree, it's a little scary for young ones. I jumped a couple of times. Davey Jones and his crew were creeeepy. A couple of hokey scenes but some great special effects too. Funn movie. And it was nice to look at Orlando Bloom for 2+ hours. :clap_1:

My sister told me today that my 5 yr old nephew said he did not want to go- that it looked too "scarewy". he'll probably change his mind, but we decided we'll take him to that Cars movie instead. ;-)

I've only seen "Cars." It was very cute. But perhaps a little too long for kids (or their overtired moms!)

Oh Boy, supposed to see that one soon. Looks like I can plan a nap. :funn:
I fell asleep during Chicken Little when the sky was falling!

I highly recommend Cars for the little ones. I liked it too -- not an instant classic like Finding Nemo, but very enjoyable. I took my 6 and almost 3 year old and they both loved it. It was the little one's first time in a movie theater and he had a blast.

The 6 y.o. wants to go see Pirates but I told him no way since it's PG-13. I hate how they market to the little kids anyway! We got a Happy Meal at McDonalds the other day and it had Pirates stuff all over the box and had a little mini do-rag inside. I mean what 13 year old eats a Happy Meal? I wouldn't mind if it were an appropriate movie for them to see, but it isn't by a long shot. Same with the Star Wars Episode III promotional stuff. No way is he allowed to see that one. :pissed:

OK rant over. :D

ITA on this one. My nephew is 3 1/2 and he got a sword from Pirates in his Happy Meal. I went on the same rant on the phone with my sister. Doesn't make sense. Oh, and if you do take your kids to see Pirates...all the previews are for more adult movies. Not one kiddie preview. Tallegeda Nights, The Guardian, and some really scary preview from the makers of the Sixth Sense. :idontno: There's no logic.

Will not happen. They are as sheltered as can be and I like it that way for now. Hadn't thought about the preview thing ... yet another reason not to go.

Meantime, hubby and I can't wait to see Talladega Nights! Ricky Bobby. :floor: :floor:

We can't wait either -- less than a month to go now!! Looks HILARIOUS!!!

Yeah, I was going to mention my kids are 10 and 12 1/2. There were little or no cuss words and maybe only one kissing scene. I'm sure it was rated that way for violence and the scare factor. Parents need to be the judge as to whether the kids can handle that or not.

Since my daughter is nearing 13 she probably thinks she'll be able to see any PG-13 movie. Not true. I'll still be screening them. Some PG-13's are almost as bad as R. I've always been careful with what they see. www.screenit.com is a great site.

The preview for Talladega Nights was really funny. I'm looking forward to that one too.

Daughter (21) and her boyfriend (a few days away from 25) are going back to see "Pirates" tonight. They also went last Friday. They love the makeup/special effects.
