If someone offers their plan as the end all be all, then they should be able to answer a few simple questions regarding the absolute banality of the plan. It doesn't bother you when I get repeated questions.

i really don't want to get into a discussion of semantics with you, but yes it does bother me that you post the same rhetoric over and over knowing you will get the questions so you can regurgitate your view. it is getting painful to read your posts. carry on, as i know you will(as indicated above).

6thGen, At what point do you realize our actions in Iraq have strengthened Iran, and have created far more problems than have been solved? When will you admit the U.S. has no benefit in tipping the precarious balance of power that existed in that region. We have set in motion the greatest foreign relations disaster of our time. When will you be visiting that recruiting station?

I realize that our actions have strengthened Iran, and that in the short term, we have created more problems than they?ve solved. If we look at most conflicts in the same narrow lens, without the benefit of our history book, we?d see much of the same. I believe that the long term consequences of the status quo are worse than the short term consequences of adjusting it. I remain cautiously optimistic about a long term solution in Iraq, and I believe that long term, we have a better operandi to force regime change in Iran. As for the recruiting station, I have a member of my immediate family leaving for the area in a few weeks.

Simple question for all of the "heavy hitters" on this thread...

Do you believe in Israel's right to exist?

The relevancy of this question is the following:
Regardless of "why" we're there now, what do you think will happen to Israel if we pull out now? Do you not think this action will embolden Israel's enemies to attack Israel?

(btw, I LOVE the Al Gore retrospect video on Youtube. It drives home "a" point, IMHO)

I do not consider myself a heavy hitter on this thread but I will certainly throw in my 2 cents.... and try be as simple as possible.

I absolutely believe in Israel's right to exist and am not one of those who believe that they should be wiped off face of this world. They were persecuted and murdered in the millions and had a right to want to return to their homeland.

I also believe the Palestinians have the same rights. Israel was built on the many misfortunes and on the back of Palestinians. Conquering by force and war (even in victory) is certainly not a long term intelligent way of holding onto power that is btw, becoming more nebuous as the years go by.

Nothing will happen to Israel if the US pulls out of Iraq - Israel will continue to enjoy the millions and millions of dollars/support that the US has showered upon her.

Just a few quick, easy questions. What is a Palestinian? How is their ethnicity different from, say, Jordanians? Also, the West, specifically the Brits, is castigated for establishing Israel and defining her boundaries. Who established "Palestine" and defined what "Palestinians" are?

Weak argument. What are the ethnicities of the Russian, European, and Americans living in Israel? How far back do you believe does someones right to return to their homeland exists? 2000 years? 50 years? 200 years?
Are you also denying that the people of the occupied territories were not once living in what is now Israel ( call them Jordanian or whatever you like)?

I'm saying that the Palestinian ethnicity was created by Arafat. The stated goal of any movement surrounding the ethnicity is the destruction of Israel. May 15, 1948 is the date when Palestinians became a people, according to their constitution. Do you know what happened on May 14, 1948?
