Reading the paper this morning I came across an article about children coming home from college. I loved the following quote "They will have acquired vampire-like sleep patterns and attitudes of superior intelligence." It says the biggest change is they do not think anything of napping at 6:30, dinner and 10:30, and seeing a movie at midnight and coming home at 2:00 or later. Not our normal daily rountine.

Although I have done it before, it has been a while since a I have had a college child come home for break....an adjustment for both of us I imagine. Still I am excited!

The kids lives sound as if they should be part of the FUNNs.

Are you talking about my son? You have described him perfectly, down to the last minutae. It's the 2 am business that drives me crazy. I really can't fall asleep properly until Alex is back home, doors locked, and lights out. So I only half-sleep until I know he's in. I started sleeping so much better when we sent him off to school!

I will say, though, that college has done the boy good. His humor is wonderful and he appreciates his parents (especially his mother  ) so much more. College really does make them mature.

Are we doing St. Patty's J-Funn?

IWIWT- Listen. When I came back from my first quarter at Auburn and my parents tried to corral me...it was not pretty. I clearly remember thinking to myself that when I have kids, I will not smother them their first Christmas back.

It was the worst. My parents killed me that year.

Kimmi, we're doing worse than your parents! We're abandoning ours Christmas week. We're alerting all friends and neighbors and then we're hightailing it down to SoWal. We tried to get the kids to come with us but they travel in gangs--like if we don't their friends with us to the beach, they're not interested! So they stay home with the white snow while we get the white sand. :funn:
