T-Day Weekend

Ok, for real, guys, what's happening down in 30a land on thanksgiving weekend? We're heading down and want to have some fun.

Last year we drove down on T-day itself, just the two of us and the dog. (my family is too spread out to get together on T-day, we usually do Christmas instead.) But we had a blast: Ordered a big piece of blackened grouper from a big-haired waitress at Dusty's (that we cut up to look like a turkey leg). Friends were saying "oh, how sad", but we loved it, we thought it was pure campy fun. (And I made a 50%-off turkey the next day, so it was all good.)

So, after reading all the posts I still can't figure out if there's a parade, or any other events...who's got the word?

My husband was asked to sit in on keyboards over T-day weekend with a band that will be playing somewhere around 30a, (not sure which venue yet), so we know at least one night we'll be out on the town. As soon as we know where that is, we'll let you know. They're friends with Oli, so we're hoping its 331 or Red Bar...

In the meantime, anything else going on worth knowing about?

Cook, eat, drink, eat, drink, walk on beach, eat, drink, get in hot tub, drink, give a margarita party for the neighbors where we'll eat and drink ... and maybe drive to Destin to see Harry Potter and Rent (not immediately after drinking - don't want "being in jail for a DUI" to be on the list). Seriously.

I dunno about the parade. I think I'm un-invited because they're afraid I'd arrive in my "Giant Florida Gator with a Santa Hat" costume.

First of all KB, my husband and I LOVE DUSTY's we always have a blast! Secondly,The Seaside Repertory Theatre is presenting a Christmas Carol. They are also having a toy drive and will donate the toys to Katrina victims. It's just a thought but that might be fun if it doesn't interfere with the hubster's schedule.

Katie Blue...sounds like you and your hubby will have a great thanksgiving, I think any time down on 30a is wonderful!!!! enjoy

we --literally-- give thanks every single time we walk on the beach. every single time. we still can't believe how blessed we are, and i hope we never get used to it.
