Take Me To The Zydeco

So Mrs. Movin and I were out to dinner with another couple last night (Bonefish in Destin--excellent) when they suggested going to the Funky Blues Shack to see who's playing. We got there and it was Chubby Carrier and the Swamp Boogie Band. One of my all time favorites. Used to see them occasionally back in my Louisiana days.

Turns out they're also playing this Sunday (Aug. 13) from 4 - 8 pm at the SeaBar (across the street from the Blue Bar on Hwy. 331.

I strongly recommend them. Mrs. Movin has never been a big fan of zydeco. I always told her, though, that if she ever saw it live she would love it. I was right?by the end of the night she was dancing, clapping her hands and shouting out the lyrics with the band...now she?s ready for a Chubby Party :D .

It's really fun, infectious music when you're watching it live. If any of you lived in Atlanta back during the 90s you might remember that Rogene Aloysius Superstar Bailey used to close his weekly blues show on WCLK with this song ...

Hope we see some of y?all there.

Not anymore I don't think. On Sunday it's boiled shrimp, oysters, fried grouper, gumbo...sooo good after a long day at the beach. Cold beer, great music. They also have other dishes available, but from what I know if you want to keep consistient with the Red Bar food go across to The 331. But the Seabar on the Sunday is NOT worth missing!!!!

When I was there this summer we didn't miss a Sunday. Even when the Yellowflies were really bad! Enjoy!
