Tax Protests and the Tea Party- Why Now?

From what I remember, the Boston Tea Party was a protest about taxes. So now we have the Tea Partiers who borrowed from the name of the Boston Tea Party. And they just had a big Tax Day protest.

Some of this might make sense to me except for that fact that our taxes are the lowest they have been in 60 years. My understanding is that 95% of middle class families have received tax cuts under the current administration. Given that these seem to be true (aka facts)-

can someone pls tell me why we are seeing tax revolts when at no other time in recent memory have we seen them?

It has nothing to do with facts and everything to do with perception, ratings/money, racism, a bad economy, and fear.

Yes, we will need to raise taxes in the future to pay all the bills we have been piling up at every level of government for years/decades, but that is not what the majority of these protestors are truly upset about.

There are a lot of unfortunate people in that video, which I am sure was the purpose. However, it doesn't seem like the maker of the video had to look far to find them!

It's pretty ridiculous to see/hear what these people are saying and unfortunately the fear and misinformation is just getting worse.

When Obama was running for other offices the opposition didn't bring up the birth certificate question - because it was so far fetched and stupid they thought it would just hurt them.

The fact that mainstream media outlets are still reporting on the issue and people are still focused on it MORE THAN A YEAR AFTER HE HAS TAKEN OFFICE should tell you just how much people are letting their fear/racism blind them.
