I plan on visiting SoWal at least 3 times in the next 4 months and I am excited about that...but I have been looking up Mediterranian cruises all day , and I am really getting excited! I am thinking of taking one (lots of $$$...but I might as well do it while I can..and can go alone!!!) that goes to Italy & Greece...or Spain?
Once in a life time trip for me..I am worth it!

WHEN are you going to SoWal? In April? Maybe around the 21-22? ;-)

Some parts of the Carribbean are a great trip in the summer, depending on where you go - it is their off season.
You could go to St Barths where there is usually a deal with the rental car included. It is a French Island - their main source of income is tourism - so they are not as offended when I can't speak French!!! The food is incredible and there beaches that have a lot of different flavor!!! However, none of the beaches are as great as our SoWal beaches. In the off season, it is not hard to get into any restaurants. And people take their dogs to the outside cafes. The airport is a trip - the pilot comes over a mountain and immediately puts on brakes - the landing strip is very short - and there is a cemetary near the runway!!! It is a landing never to forget!!!
