In war, there are lives risked and lives taken. Men and women giving their best to defend what they love. They defend their country, their honor, their people. Some call them soldiers others call them heroes. -Jared Jenkins
?The Great War? otherwise known as World War I officially ended when the Treaty of Versailles was signed on June 28, 1919. An armistice between the Allied nations and Germany went into effect on the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month. Take time today November 11th to consider the heroism of those who died in this country?s service and those whose continued courage goes above and beyond to keep America free and safe. Your friends at Handyman Connection salute the brave men and women who serve in all aspects of our military.

Here's a priceless photo of my dad - wounded during Korean War at Bloody Nose Ridge.
He was leading his platoon on a mission in the Korean village of Kantonghyoo and his platoon of the 3rd Ranger Co. were clearing the village when heavy small arms and machine gun fire pinned the unit down. Although he was wounded by shellfire he exposed himself to direct tank fire on an enemy machine gun which had stopped the platoon's advance. Despite a 2nd wound received by a Red grenade, daddy led his unit in a bayonet attack and was awarded the Silver Star and 2 Clusters to his Purple Heart.
Here's a pic showing his handsome self. I miss him.
I love this photo. You can see the scar above his lip where he was shot in the face in the Philippines. THAT was a close call I should say. He had his jaw wired for 6 months while in a hospital with not so great conditions I might add.
