Oh, I was thinking that "anta" is some type of sea animal (like the stuffed one in the photo) that is exhibited at the Georgia Aquarium and is endangered in some way, thus "Keep the anta in Atlanta." Seriously. :floor:

I'm puzzled why people object so strongly so Atlanta being called the ATL. Hopefully no racism is involved. ATL has been Atlanta's acronym on airline baggage tags for decades. :idontno:

Personally I normally refer to my hometown as "Itlanna." :D

And Okaloosa County is VPS (Valparaiso), Panama City-Bay County is PFN, and Pensacola is PNS. When I see PNS, Pensacola is NOT the first thing to come to mind.

Probably because it's not the first three letters of the name of the town itself. I mean, it wouldn't make sense for New Orleans (MSY?). Also, many of us who were raised in Atlanta and lived around a lot of airline employees all of our lives associate Atlanta with the airport, it typically being ranked as the busiest airport in the US and well as the airlines/airport being among the biggest employers in the city.
