SoWal is an amazing place and has such wonderful people living and working here. I think we need a thread to be able to say "thanks" to people whose actions make our lives just a bit easier, go over-and-above the call of duty, contribute to improving the quality of life here, or whatever you think deserves some public mention!

I will start - I have a few...

A HUGE Thanks to Buddy Wright in the Walton County planning office. I was pulling a temp event permit, and did not know the time frame involved, and had a crazy schedule on the day I was attempting to make this permit happen. Buddy went out of his way and helped me out- and was super-nice to boot. So THANK YOU BUDDY!

Thank you Seaside Repertory Theatre staff, volunteers, and board members who work so hard and are so great. And thanks to all the old and new friends who stopped by the Rep's table at the Seaside Yard Sale- you are all the best!

Thank you to the new SWHS principal- David Preast. You "get it", and the school has great energy and spirit this year.

Thanks to Kurt, Tootsie, everyone that makes this website what it is.

A great connection to everything SoWal, not only does it serve the locals, but keeps all those that love SoWal from afar, well informed.

What a GREAT idea for an on-going thread to thank those who make our little place so GREAT.

So, I would like to thank Jenny Dargavell (jdarg) for starting something very positive here. Its all about community, and she not only gets it, but does it.

I agree with Jenny about Buddy Wright--he has helped many people with community zoning questions too; I agree with Teresa that Jenny is always thinking positive and doing all kinds of things to put action to her thoughts: the school, the newspaper, the theater...she is a great friend and neighbor.
another I am thankful for is Dave Rauschkolb--he has a big heart; a soulful vision for our community; and the ability to stay on message and keep positive in the face of much criticism.

Thank you to the inventor of our beautiful weather.
Thanks to the inventor of paint.
Thanks to Al Gore for inventing the internet.
Thanks to the inventor of the color TV with remote control.

Thank you Cheri Peebles and Hibiscus for 3 things:

1) Hosting the Sunday brunch mimosa pours for non-profits. So generous and just plain ol' nice.

2) Keeping our daughter and her friend busy with jobs around Hibiscus so mom and dad could pour mimosas and visit. If you hadn't given them jobs, I never would have heard them say "Thank you for letting us work". I never hear that around here!

3) For being the original Queen "Be".

If you are reading this and have been to Modica in the last 8 years (This weekend is my anniversery) and you have been nice to the Deli people, Thank You!

I shop at Publix Grand Boulevard several times a week, and everyone there is always friendly and helpful. They really do make shopping a pleasure.

Ed, Rachel and gang at For the Health of It are VERY helpful and knowledgeable.

Also, kudos and thanks to our local firefighters and surrounding companies who limited this morning's fire at the Sandestin Hilton to outdoor damage only. Amazing job, guys!

And thanks to Jen-nay for all this good karma!

I want to thank TillerJeff (as he is known here on the forum) for helping me out once again with my car for a reasonable price. He is a super nice guy and wise beyond his years :D.
Thanks again Jeff!

If you needs car repairs or towing, please keep him in mind. His number is 850-687-4050

Thanks to Jenny for starting this thread. Thanks to my SoWal friends for being great company (even though we don't see each other often). Thanks to my friends from Michigan who told me about SoWal and encouraged me to get a place here. Thanks for Kurt for this wonderful online community. Thanks to the sunset for doing a beautiful (and free) show just about every night. Thanks to all the restaurant owners and small business owners who work hard to give SoWallers and guests special places to eat, shop, and play. Thanks to the board of the CCC for taking care of the community and keeping owners informed (those of us who live far away really appreciate it!). And thanks to the guests who vacation at rentals throughout SoWal and make memories while they are here.
