The irony of 'Rally to Restore Sanity'

Wouldn?t it be brilliant if a comedic rally for moderation could garner more support than Beck?s event. Oh the irony!
I doubt the pulpit will be taken away from extremists though. ...... shall be fun!

That's a rally I'd love to attend. Jon Stewart is one helluva funny guy. He was on Oprah a couple of days ago.

I prefer the other way!

Sometimes I think Colbert is just about the smartest, funniest person to have ever been on television (just ask him), but then , Jon Stewart does his Glenn Beck imitation, or some other simply silly (but astute) observation, and I just just can't tell who's the best.

When he tells it like it is? Yes! Besides, the laughter is salve to our wounds. Have you noticed that much of the country is pretty bummed out?

To me, the irony of the event is that so many people probably want to attend but can't because they have actual $%!^ to do, as Stewart himself pointed out.

His announcement of the event was one of the funniest things I have seen in a long time. I loved the premade signs.

Probably because the "court jesters" are also the ones ACTUALLY supporting the troops, the US Olympic team, have the best guests (who do not always agree with the host), actual discussions about topics we care about, and call politicians out on their nonsense.

This is so true. Aside from the over-the-top (and hilariously spot-on) jabs at Fox News, MSNBC, CNN and CNBC, Colbert and Stewart have been class all the way. The interviews are consistently top-notch.

I heard Tina Fey will be there!

Spot on! We would be there if we could. Autumn in DC and what promises to be a funn rally about the direction extremists are taking our country - I can get on board! I'm hoping for satellite connections around the country so maybe I can be a part of it that way.
