It's beginning to look as though it will be the gov vs the legislature on the budget:

House Speaker Dean Cannon likes Gov. Rick Scott, but has concerns over budget proposal - St. Petersburg Times
Florida House Speaker Dean Cannon embraces Gov. Rick Scott's philosophy and work ethic, but he's keeping some of Scott's biggest proposals at arm's length.

While calling the governor gracious and smart Friday during an hour meeting with the St. Petersburg Times editorial board, Cannon described Scott's budget as an unorthodox plan that he's perplexed by.

"I think, again, a lot of people including me, as you see the proposal and you roll it out in Eustis, it was a weird ? no one knew quite what to make of it in many respects," Cannon said.

Weird...I think that covers a lot of territory...

We had to do teacher & TA evaluations at the end of every semester for every class in college.

Short standardized forms you filled out w/ a #2 so a computer could quickly and easily process them and a separate page for additional handwritten comments.

I brought extra paper for all my comments about one horrible teacher - but he had tenure, so it didn't do any good.

Great way to do feedback on course content, tests etc. and it took 15 minutes.

SB, I think we are following each other around on this thread. Once again, I had the same experience with the college evaluations and my school had about 18,000 students when I was there so size isn't an issue.

It won't tease out the minutiae, but it sure could identify some of the REALLY bad apples. Maybe this could be step one since it's anonymous and includes everyone. Then when a problem is identified, they could have follow-up interviews. Just a thought.

Scott's already got Pam Bondi fairly angry with him because he's trying to kill off a bunch of anti- 'pill mill' laws and regulations that Bondi fought hard for. Not a good start when your AG is complaining about you to the press. And Adam Putnam has also made it clear that while he respects the governor and wants to work well with him, he's not going to let Scott dictate how he runs his constitutional office. (which is important because of Putnam's oversight responsibilities of Consumer Affairs and how that plays into Scott's desire to remove regulations)

I predict it will get combative quickly.

Jeb Bush never overstepped the way this governor is; nor, was he disrespectful of the separate branches...a cabinet officer/legislator is an elected official...not part of the executive office of the governor, FTLOG.

This is definitely NOT a match made in Heaven, and I for one am happy about it. Think about it, there were folks who used to be happy the politicians didn't get along, why because they did not create stupid laws or pass budgets or do something that was going to make half the people made. O the good ol days have returned.
